Listening Lovingly

Our fast paced instant lives can become so complicated with relationships we have with those around us.  Listening is such an important part of uncomplicating our relationships.  Yet to really listen we must slow down and focus and wait.  After a go, go, go day this seems impossible.  Here are a few things that help me to listen to those I love better:

1.  Take 3-5 deep breaths and focus on your body inhaling and exhaling.

2.  Look at person at least 3/4 of the time they are talking.

3.  If you need to finish a task first, ask them to write it down so when you are ready to listen you can give them your full attention.

4.  Practice listening to your breathing or nature sounds outside everyday for at least one minute.

How is your listening?
