‘Mother Of Outcasts’ To Be A Saint For Leprosy Work : NPR

‘Mother Of Outcasts’ To Be A Saint For Leprosy Work : NPR.

This story touched me.  My husband’s grandfather was a missionary to this leper colony in the early 1920’s or earlier.  He served another mission to Hawaii with his family in the late 1940’s where my father in law spent his early barefoot childhood.  He tells a story of going to visit this community with his father.  Grandpa was a saint.

People of faith risked a great deal to minister to those who were sick and in need.  I believe we are all saints without ceremony if we serve others.

May we thrive as we faithfully serve others in need.
