Held your tiara in my fingers,
Twirling the crystal gems to catch the light.
Cleaned under your bed finding two lip balms
And a holey sock.
Absence filling the spaces where once was presence;
Your being’s power penetrating cardiac cells;
Brain synapses processing swelling sensation.
Prayers offered as I leave your room tidy,
Missing cluttered creativity strewn about the floor.
Dusk light messengers affection
Awaiting dawn’s mellow melody.
Memory tangled action flies deep into day.
Baby girl, princess, now a woman,
On the first steps of the wide world.
Angels whisper wisdom,
Heart and mind hear and heed.
Though no touch or proximity,
arms surround, support;
To wait for flesh where memory now stands.
May you thrive through your life changes.
